There are three membership categories:

Active membership (holding a professional qualification in medical education or holding a degree or equivalent in the field of specialization (Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Nursing, Applied Medical Sciences, Basic Medical Sciences) and practicing as an educator in his or her specialty (fees apply and members will have a right to vote)

Student membership (University students who are in the field of specialization of SSME. (fees apply but discounted) (SSME will need proof of student status)

Honorary membership (at the discretion of SSME for individuals who have contributed to the SSME mission or who have made financial contributions to SSME. (Exempted from fees)
